Lawrence Nathaniel Franson of North Miami died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at 3:30 p.m. at his residence. He was 79.

He was born Feb. 3, 1924, in rural Sedgwick County, Colo., to Oscar Nathaniel Franson and Martha (Anderson) Franson. He was married to Barbara June Henderson in Denver, Colo., on Feb. 21, 1985. He lived in North Miami for the past 16 years, moving there from Colorado. He attended Highway Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God in Cardin. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara June, of the home; one son, David Franson of Golden, Colo.; four stepdaughters, Karen Workman, Melony Isbell, Linda Williams and Pamela Favors, all of Tennessee, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Monday, June 2, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the G.A.R. Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Clonts officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Picher.
