He was born June 4, 1916 in rural Sheridan County to Frederick Charles and Clara (Pfisterer) Otte. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
He was a lifetime resident of the area, a retired rancher and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Rushville.
He married Stella Crowe at Wood Lake, Nebraska on May 25, 1959.
Survivors are his wife, Stella, Gordon; sons, Fred Otte of Bogada, Guam, and Dan Otte, Gordon; daughter, Sheila Strubel, Huron, SD; brothers, Carl and Henry Otte, both of Gordon; sisters, Martha Vinton of Gordon and Helen Tittle, Greeley, Colorado; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Immaculate Conception. The Rev. Robert Karnish will officiate. Burial will be in the Gordon Cemetery with military rites by the Rushville American Legion Post. A wake service will be at 7 p.m. today at the church Chamberlain-Cicmanec Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. -- Sheridan County Star Aug 1996
