PFAFFENGUT, Bonnie Boye, age 87 of Corvallis, died Nov. 18, 2014.

Bonnie was born on Oct. 14, 1927, to Irwin B. and Marguerite O. Wenger Thorpe. She had one sibling. Bonnie married Alvin Pfaffengut on Nov. 10, 1945, in North Dakota. The couple had three children, Susan, Sandra and Stephen. Bonnie was a homemaker. She enjoyed her pets, gardening, knitting and camping. She loved the Lord and was a woman of great faith. She could aptly be described as a prayer warrior.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who would say “Ish!” to her grandchildren who teased her. She also spent time tutoring them and teaching them when they needed her help with their studies. She told everyone great stories of the old days.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin, who died in 1999; and her beloved sister, Mary Jane. She is survived by her children, Susan Hamon, Sandra and Joe Jeffers, and Stephen and Rosemary Pfaffengut; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A visitation is set for 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at McHenry Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the funeral home. Burial at Bellfountain Cemetery will follow the funeral service. Please leave your thoughts and memories for the family at www.mchenryfuneralhome.com.
