Ms. Ann (Leet) Alford, 75, of Hartwell, died Sunday, November 9, 2014 at her home.
Born July 31, 1939, in Clay, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Beckham Leet and Bessie Lucille (Towery) Leet. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Limestone College, and earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of Georgia. She retired from the United States Environmental Protection Agency in 1996. After retirement, she moved to Hartwell and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and AARP Foundation Tax-Aide.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law of Atlanta; and 2 grandchildren of Atlanta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Franklin Leet.
In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated.
