Bloomington - Beverly J. Walters/Behnke, 90, of Bloomington, passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at her residence.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington with Pastor Thomas Wirsing officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Interment will be in Fondulac Township Cemetery in East Peoria. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Beverly was born on July 16, 1924 in Bloomington, a daughter to Alfred H. And Mae (Ling) Giermann. She married Willis W. Walters on February 12, 1967 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1999. She married John A. Behnke on August 3, 2002 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2008.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela S. (Michael) Brown of Normal, Peggy R. (Tom) Abbott of Bloomington; a son, Gregory S. (Teri) Walters of Peoria; 8 grandchildren, Natalie Clark of Colorado, Anthony M. (Kimberly) Brown of Bloomington, Jennifer R. (Frank) Radek of Normal, Dawn (Greg) Adkinson of Normal, Dustin (Erin) Knuth of Normal, Ashley (Adam) Brownfield of Bloomington, Gregory Walters II of Peoria Heights and Yvonne Walters of Peoria Heights. Along with 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husbands; infant sister; brother, Alfred H. Giermann; granddaughter, Kristina Clark; son, Dana Clark II; grandson, Christopher R. Brown.
Beverly graduated from University High School in Normal. She was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington. Beverly worked for Smith Drug Store in Peoria and Nierstheimers Drug Store in Bloomington for many years. She worked for and taught sewing for Singer Sewing Co.
