Age: 24 years old

Bridget Delia "Delia" Deane was the fourth of seven children born to Patrick Deane (1839-1904) and his wife, "Nora" Madden Deane (1840-1901). "Nora" appeared on some documents as Honoria, Honora and Honorah. Delia was born in Carrowcoller, Kilglass, County Sligo, Ireland.

Delia married Michael John Golden. It is believed that they married in Ireland. No marriage record was found for them in New York City.

A Michael Golden arrived at New York Port from Liverpool, England and Queenstown, Ireland on 20 Jun 1887 on the S.S. "Etruria". He was traveling alone. Perhaps he came to America before Delia in order to find employment and prepare a place for them to live. A Bridget Golden arrived in New York Port on 22 Oct 1888 on the same ship. She was traveling alone.

Michael and Delia had a daughter, Louise Bridget Golden, on 28 Dec 1891. She was born at home on Third Avenue, in Manhattan. The next day, at 4:00 P.M., Delia died of a coronary thrombosis (blood clot to the heart). At that time, it was common practice for women to be put to bed for long periods of time before and after labor. They would develop blood clots in their legs, which would travel to the brain, heart, or lungs, causing death.

Delia's Death Certificate (# 43556) states that she was 24 years old when she died. Her monument says she was 26 years old when she died.

Delia was buried in Calvary Cemetery on New Year's Eve 1891.
