BYERS - HOWARD
Miss Rachel Howard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Howard, and Dr. Earl P. Byers, of New Braunfels, Tex., will be married at 8 o'clock Wednesday night in the church of the Immaculate Conception. Rev. Francis Roy will perform the ceremony. Miss Ruth Howard will be her sister's bridesmaid, and the groom will be attended by Eugene Mountain. Miss Barbara Byers, sister of the groom, will play the wedding marches. The couple will leave for New Braunfels, Tex immediately following the ceremony. (El Paso Herald, El Paso, Tex., June 16, 1914)

Miss Barara Byers, a sister of the groom, played the bridal chorus from "Lohengrin" as the bridal party entered the church, led by Miss Ruth Howard, sister of the bride, who was her only attendant. She as dressed in an embroidered pink crepe, with a white straw hat, trimmed with pink chiffon and flowers. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Miss Rachel Howard entered the church on the arm of her father, A. A. Howard. She was gowned in white embroidered crepe, made with a graceful length train, and her tulle veil was arranged hood effect, with sprays of tiny white daisies. She carried an arm bouquet of American Beauty roses tied with tulle. Dr. Byers was attended by Eugene Mountain.
Mendelssohn's Wedding March from "The Midsummer Night's Dream: was played as the bridal party left the church. Following the ceremony a very informal reception was held for the members of the bridal party at the bride's home on Mesa Avenue. Dr. and Mrs. Byers left immediately for their future home in New Braunfels, Tex. Mrs. Byer's going away gown was a green corded coat suit, and with it she wore a Panama hat.
