Funeral services were held Sunday, April 8, at 2 p.m. for George W. Mowday, husband of the late Alice D. Mowday, from the Wilde Funeral Home.

Rev. Hugh Rendall of Parkesburg Presbyterian Church had charge of the service, assisted by Rev. Noah Hershey, Jr., of Parkesburg Mennonite Church. There were many lovely floral pieces received from family and friends.

Mr. Mowday lived most of his life around Parkesburg. He had been retired for many years from Pennsylvania Highway Department. A son of the late John C. and Annie Jones Mowday, he was born in East Nantmeal.

Mr. Mowday was a member of Parkesburg Presbyterian Church and is survived by a daughter, Helen, wife of William R. Herd, whit whom he lived, also nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He passed away early last Thursday in Coatesville Hospital in his 83rd year.

Interment was made in Upper Octorara Cemetery. Pallbearers wer Claude Hamill, Alfred D. Mowday, Willis A. Mowday, John Whitely, Harold Mowday and William Herd.
