Marvin Dwayne “Bud” Rusch, 73 year old Woodward resident, died Thursday, November 6, 2014 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church, Lincoln Campus with the Reverend Jason Dirks officiating. A private family burial will take place.
Marvin Dwayne Rusch was born on March 17, 1941 in Southard, Oklahoma to Abraham and Ora Louise (Cramer) Rusch. At an early age the family lived in Norman before moving to Liberal, Kansas. He attended Liberal schools and graduated from Liberal High School in 1959. Bud was united in marriage to Linda Shelton in February of 1961 in Liberal, Kansas. They were blessed with three children, Cindy, Jon, and Marla. Linda and Bud later divorced but remained very close friends. The family lived in Fairview and they moved to Woodward in December of 1966.
Bud worked in the oilfield driving a truck. He later became a Manager at Hodges Trucking and started his own trucking business, W&P Trucking. He went to work for the Sharon Post Office as a Mail Carrier and continued working there until his retirement in 2003. Bud never really retired because he continued farming for Keith Story, ranching and went to work as a driver for Hooper Construction, because he loved to drive a truck.
Bud received Christ as his Savior on October 11, 2014. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and was very talented doing leatherwork. He owned and operated his own airplane, and spent many years restoring his Model A Ford. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Elks. Bud loved his cows, his car and his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Bookstore of Woodward, Marla Goodwin and husband Robert of Woodward; one son, Jon Rusch and Penny Rusch; one brother, Ronnie Rusch and wife Lonnie of Cleburne, Texas; one sister, Shirley Tauer and husband Richard of Edmond; nine grandchildren, Derick Vineyard, Tenesha Ryel and husband Ashley of Woodward, Devon Rusch, Brandon Rusch, Jaron Rusch, all of Rolla, Kansas, Brogan Goodwin, Chandler Goodwin, Trevor Goodwin, all of Woodward; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Redinger, Isaiah and Eli Ryel, Brooklynn Walker; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Abraham, mom, Ora, one brother Abie “Curley” Rusch, and one grandson, Jonathon Rusch in December of 2013.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to Faith Hospice for their loving care of Bud, especially, Kerrie and Tina who were very special to him.

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again. ~ Anon.
