Nita Janell Hopkins was born in Cheyenne, Oklahoma on January 11, 1954. She entered her eternal resting place on October 29, 2014. Nita was a giver that was always ready to take care of her family and friends. She loved her "girls" and found great joy in taking them shopping. Nita recently battled cancer but accepted her fate was in God's hands and trusted he would guide her in her journey.

Nita spent 38 years working for the Stanislaus County Office of Education, working for the Graphics Department. She began working there just after high school and eventually led the department for 18 years. After her retirement she focused her attention on her other passions: gardening, baking, shopping and her family. Her love for her family truly defined her as a person. Many of her recipes were family based and baked for the family. She always put others first; she was there to nurture those who needed it most. She will be remembered for so much, including her morning Pepsi and her stash of chocolate.

Nita was predeceased by her father Glen Parman, mother Janis Parman, brother Jerry Blair, brother Larry Parman and one niece. She is survived by her daughters Tanya Hopkins and Kayla Hopkins; granddaughters Grace Hopkins and Abby Keane; her brothers Richard Parman, Douglas (Marilyn) Parman and Russ (Jen) Parman; her sisters Glenda Carella and Nelda Parman; 29 nephews and 24 nieces. Nita was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014, at 1:00 pm at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, 419 Scenic Drive, Modesto, CA.
