Trooper Squadron A, NYNG, 1898 - 1898( till death ). Served with Troop A ( Squadron A ), NY Volunteer Cavalry, in the Spanish American War. Troop A mustered in for service at Camp Black, Hempstead, NY, May 20 1898.After muster the NY Squadron ( Troops A & C ) were assigned to Camp Alger, VA, for training.

Troop A shipped out for Puerto Rico, July 28, 1898, aboard the transport Massachusetts, from Newport News, VA. The Troop went ashore at Plaza, port of Ponce, PR, August 4, 1898. On arrival the Troop was assigned to General Miles' Headquarters and preformed detached service and participated in the Puerto Rico campaign. While serving in Puerto Rico he came down with malaria.

He returned to the States with his Troop, aboard the transport Mississippi, September 10, 1898, docking at Jersey City, NY. While waiting to muster out of war service, he accidental died.
