Paul Edward Accettola, lawyer, father, husband, woodworker and aspiring cowboy, passed away on October 24, 2014, in the comfort of his own home. Paul is survived by his four children, Casey Accettola, Jeanne Kestel (Joe Kestel), Andrew Accettola and Alison Accettola (Nolan Yamashiro), and his loving companion, Tonya Carr. Paul was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 26 years, Judith Kirker Accettola. Paul is also survived by his brother, Albert Jr.; sister, Judy, and father, Albert Sr., all of whom live on Paul's cherished family farm in New Jersey.

Born in New York to Albert and Rose Accettola, Paul was a graduate of Drew University and the University of Toledo School of Law. Paul remained in Toledo as a founding member of the law firm of Herschel & Accettola, where he continued until his recent retirement. He was also a member of the Toledo Bar Association, serving on the Board of Trustees; the Ohio Bar Association; the Court Diagnostic and Treatment Center, serving on the Board of Directors; and was Chairman of the Board of Zoning Appeals in Waterville Township. Additionally, both Paul and Judy worked together as attorneys at the Lucas County Courthouse for over a decade and Paul worked closely with the Lucas County Public Defender's Office. While in that capacity, he helped many people who could not otherwise afford a criminal defense attorney. Paul was a much beloved figure in the legal community, known for his loquacious sentencing arguments and his sharp wit. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his much loved dog, Socks, and tinkering in his workshop, woodworking and refinishing antiques.

Friends and family are invited to join in a memorial gathering which will be held at the Carranor Hunt and Polo Club, 502 E. 2nd Street, Perrysburg, on Monday, October 27, 2014, between the hours of 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. The Walker Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
