Dr. James Hollis Johnson, 72, of Bowling Green, passed away Oct. 23, 2014, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

The Owensboro native was the son of the late James Pleasant Johnson and Mable Stinnett Johnson.

Dr. Johnson was pastor of Seed of Faith Church, which was his true love.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria J. Crawford Johnson; his daughter, Juanita McIntyre (husband Donnie McIntyre); his daughter, Christina Sandlin (husband Sonny Sandlin); his son, Phillip Johnson (wife Melissa Johnson); his brother, Don Johnson (wife Joyce Johnson); his brother, Wilbur Johnson (wife Maxine Johnson); and his sister, Gloria Bowlds (husband Rodney Bowlds). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Jennings Berkley, and his mother and rather.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at J.C. Kirby & Son, Lovers Lane chapel, and from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Seed of Faith Church, with service at 2 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Bowling Green Gardens.
