He was transferred to Company A, 4th Battalion Georgia Sharpshooters May 4, 1863 as a Private. He was Captured at Peachtree Creek on July 19, 1864 and was sent to Camp Chase. He enlisted in Company H, 6th US Volunteer Infantry as a Private on March 29, 1865 at Camp Douglas. He was mustered out of the US Army October 15, 1866 at Kearney, New Jersey. He filed for Confederate Pension in Crisp County Georgia in 1916.
