Henry Frank Mura was born on January 16, 1915 and was nearing his 99th birthday in January. He was married to the late Rose Lee Mura and they had one daughter, Cindy Baird (Bill) of Indianola. He and Rose were the proud grandparents of Elizabeth Lee Baird Dawson (Phillip) and William Lake Baird (Lorie), great grandchildren are as follows, Lillian Auletta Dawson, James Baird Dawson, William Lake Baird, Jr. and Vivian Jerryann Baird. He leaves one brother, Andy Mura of Cleveland, OH and 25 nieces and nephews. Henry proudly served in the 1st Division, 1st Battalion, 9th Naval District of the U.S. Naval Reserve during World War II. He then again served as a 1st Lieutenant, armor, in the Army of the United States of America and was honorably discharged from both branches. After his service career, he then began his career with Modern Tool & Die Company in Cleveland, Ohio. He and his young family were transferred within the company to be part of the team that started a new plant known as Modern Line Products in Indianola, Mississippi for the manufacture of garden and lawn equipment. He proudly worked for Modern Line and retired after 38 years as plant manager. During his many years at Modern Line he encouraged many men and women to strive to do their best and be proud of their accomplishments. Better known as Hank, he was a strict manager but a great motivator, always there and always ready to help everyone do their very best for “the company”. Hank was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and had experienced “a hole in one” more than once at the Indianola Country Club. His greatest success was in the many lives that he encouraged with his loyalty. His family has requested any memorials be sent to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or to the Indianola Boys Baseball Association or a charity of choice. The family will receive friends Monday, December 23, 2013 from 1:30 pm until the 2:00 pm funeral service at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery under the direction of Burton Funeral Home of Indianola. His family expresses their gratitude to the many caretakers that helped Mr. Hank stay at home during his later years.
