A San Francisco native and San Mateo County resident for 58 years, entered into rest in South San Francisco on October 13, 2014. Loving husband to his late wife Eva Andreotti Abbaticola married for 60 years.
Loving father. He was a wonderful Nonno to his grandchildren.
Devoted son of the late Mary and Frank Abbaticola and brother to the late Josephine Strom and Leticia DeLucchi.
John Abbaticola was a proud WWII Navy veteran, a comedian and a storyteller. An impeccable jazz musician, he had the opportunity to tour and play with other very talented and famous jazz musicians of his time. He lived a long and fulfilling life reaching the age of 96.
Heaven now has a new angel and we know he is up there playing his trumpet and reuniting with his beloved wife and family. His kind heart and adventurous spirit will be missed by all who knew him and enjoyed the pleasure of his company.
