ELIAS HODGE WELL KNOWN COLORED RESIDENT, DIES
After an illness of some four months, Elias Hodge, a well known colored resident of the town, died at his home, 113 West Locust Avenue on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. He was 48 years old and death was due to a complication of diseases.
He was born in Carlisle and has resided here during his entire lifetime. He was an active member of the West street A.M.E. Zion Church and was for some 30 years caretaker of the property of Mrs. Robert W. Irving.
Surviving him are his father, Daniel Hodge, his wife, and four children, Elmer, Elizabeth, Paul and Thomas, as well as three sisters, Lucy Everson and Helen Hodge, Carlisle, and Harriett, of Nashville, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment at Union cemetery.
