PAMPLIN—Henry Ray Davis, 49, of Route 1, Pamplin, died Wednesday afternoon at his residence. Born in Appomattox County, he was a son of the late Henry Harrison Davis and Nora Pugh Davis. He was a section forman for Norfolk & Western Railway with 28 years of service and a veterian of World War II. He was a member of Pamplin United Methodist Church, the Woodmaen of the World No. 71 and Lynchburg Moose Lodge No. 715. He is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Florence Arthur of Lynchburg and Mrs. Myrthle Price, Mrs. Virginia Harris, Mrs. Frances Brown and Mrs. Janie Almond, all of Pamplin; three nieces, two nephews, two great nieces and five great nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Pamplin United Methodist Church by the Rev. Tom Boggs with burial in Pamplin Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and other times at the residence.
