Oscar Raymond Sturgess of 1061 North 3rd, Powers, Oregon, formerly of Creswell, passed away January 15, 1965 at the age of 60. He was born December 22, 1904 in Peedee, Oregon. He was united in marriage to Edna Fawver April 12, 1924. Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Raymond of Powers, Oregon and John of Cottage Grove; 2 daughters: Lily Willits of Salem and Juanita Davis of Powers; 2 sisters: Laureta McKinney of Creswell and Mildred Cristler of Chehalis, Washington; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was a member of the Open Bible Standard of Powers. Funeral services will be held in the Light House Temple Wednesday, January 20, 1965 at 2 p.m. Rev. Harold Crossman of the Open Bible Standard of Powers officiating. Private interment will follow at Lane Memorial Gardens. Poole-Larsen in charge of arrangements.
