He was a 1940 graduate of Albion High School. During World War II he served in the 16th Regiment of the 1st Infantry Division, and later was stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas during the Korean War.
Mr. Abbott was active in politics. He was a member of the Michigan Democratic Committee, a Michigan delegate at the 1964 Democratic Convention in Atlantic City, and campaign manager for Zoltan Ferency who ran for Michigan governor. Memorial Service held April 1, 2006 St. James Episcopal Church, Albion. CREMAINS.
