Geraldine L. Alfonso - Pueblo Chieftain - April 21, 2000 - Geraldine L. Alfonso went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2000. Survived by her loving husband, Lawrence "Larry" Alfonso; daughter, Lou Ann (Jayson) Lowder; son, Don (Alisa) Alfonso; granddaughter, Ashley Marie Alfonso; step granddaughter, Kelsie Lowder; sister, Kay (Willie) Znidarsich; mother-in-law, Mary Z. Menapace; sisters-in-law, Marie (Frank) Tokar and Lorraine (Jess) Spencer; one great-aunt, Minnie Mattivi; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Lucy Franza; father-in-law, Sam Alfonso; son, Anthony Sam Alfonso; and numerous aunts and uncles. Geraldine worked at the Pueblo City County Health Department for 27 years, and was most recently the director of nursing. She was a member of S.E.T. of Pueblo, Colorado Nurses Association and the Shrine of St. Therese, where she served as Eucharist Minister. At her request, there will be no viewing. Rosary, 9:30 a.m. Monday. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Monday, both services at the Shrine of St. Therese. Entombment, Imperial Memorial Gardens. The family respectfully requests the omission of food and flowers. Donations may be made to the charity of donor's choice in her memory.
