Elton Simpson Bailey, 55, died at 7 o’clock Friday morning at the Harbor General hospital in Torrence, Calif., where he had been a patient a month.
The son of A. W. Bailey and Rhoda (Simpson) Bailey, he was born May 30, 1915, in Linn County, was a millwright and had lived in California the last 25 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
In 1957 he married Mrs. Juanita Hill of Chillicothe.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Juanita Bailey, of the home in Bellflower, Calif.;; a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Karen) Nye, Los Angeles; a son, Gary Lynn Bailey, Los Angeles; his mother, Mrs. A. W. Bailey, Chillicothe; a sister, Mrs. Horner (Mary) Beebe, Chillicothe, and three grandchildren.
Mr. Bailey’s father died last Thursday. He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice Owens in 1955, and a sister, Mrs. Russell (Opal) Potter.
