He retired from Georgia-Pacific Paper Operations after nearly 40 years of service. He was a member and deacon of North Crossett First Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer for 40 years and was named treasurer emeritus in 1990. He was a former board member of the Crossett Paper Mills Federal Credit Union, served two terms on the loan committee and was a former member of the Crossett Civitan Club. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, gardening and cooking.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Pauline Sisson; one son, Mac Sisson and wife Donna of Arkadelphia; one daughter, Peggy Snow and husband Lowell of Prairie Grove; four grandchildren, Alan Sisson of Fort Hood, TX, Matthew Snow of Branson, MO, Stephanie Sisson Green and husband Jared of Little Rock and Meredith Snow Purifoy and husband Keith of Prairie Grove; and two great-grandchildren, Natalie Purifoy and Kale Purifoy, both of Prairie Grove. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Eloise Gates, Ladell Johnson and Erline Jenkins.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, at 10 a.m. at North Crossett First Baptist Church with Revs. Robin Allen and Lowell Snow officiating. Burial will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are to be Chester Anders, Gale Anders, James Ward, Denon Cagle, Marvin Spurlock and Lamar Hill. Honorary pallbearers are to be deacons of North Crossett First Baptist Church.
