Peggy Joanne Stevenson Pope, 56, of Crossett died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. Born in Cotton Valley, LA, on April 27, 1949, to Billy Lee Sr. and Louvenia Kelley Stevenson, she was a homemaker, an active volunteer with the Crossett School District and was a former president of the Crossett Adopt-A-School program. She enjoyed decorating, cooking, gardening and working in her yard.


Survivors include her husband, Mark Pope; one son, Chris Clark; one daughter, Holly Pope; one sister, Elizabeth Taunton, all of Crossett; one brother, Billy Lee Stevenson, Jr., of Atlanta, TX; one half-brother, Gerald Goza of Midwest City, OK; and one granddaughter, Emily Clark of Crossett. She was preceded in death by one half-sister, Jackie Pearah; and one half-brother, Jerry Kelley.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett. Burial will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers are to be Baba Pearah, Todd, Pearah, Scotty McCay, Mike Kelley, John Doss, Mason Pope, Hudson Pope and John Howe.
