There is no gravestone. Rest In Peace Great Grandfather Major.
His wife, Harriet died 1911. Their 2 children were placed in foster homes in Wallace, Idaho and in 1914 placed in Northwest Children's Home in Lewiston, Idaho. Clinton was adopted by the Nelson's and Ethel shows in the 1920 census in Clearwater County Idaho as the adopted daughter of Frank and Rosa Kincaid living in the Kincaid Lodging House but she never shows as being with them again nor is she in their obituaries which indicates they did not keep her. It was not uncommon to take a child from the orphanage and utilize as them as help, in Ethels case as a maid. It is believed Ethel was a victim of such a scenario . I next find her in California with a married man, Joseph Skelton who had a life of crime, he died in 1934. Ethel passed in 1943 in California as Ethel Kramer, husband Dave, I have searched unsuccessfully for years to find more about them as husband and wife or a marriage certificate. Much of Ethel is a mystery i.e. who actually raised her.
