Canton – Karen Marie Worley Jenkins, age 59, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Haywood County, she is the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Ruth Sorrells Worley. Karen was employed by Ingles and Sav-Mor and retired as a manager. She ministered with her husband, Reverend Ronnie Jenkins for 22 years at Laurel Grove Baptist Church, Welcome Hill Baptist Church and Waynesville Free Methodist Church. She lived out her faith by her loving, caring and generous nature and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. Karen was devoted to her family and adored each one of them. She held a special place in her heart for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ronnie Dale Jenkins; twin daughters, Amber Brinson and her husband, Joshua, of Waynesville and Charity Harris and her husband, Steve, of Canton; a son, Shannon "Shane" Jenkins of Canton; a sister, Kathy Chambers, of Canton; two brothers, Reverend Gene Worley and Phillip Worley both of Canton and three grandchildren, Slade Jenkins, Nicolas Parton and Joshua Parton; two step-grandchildren, Skyler and Zach Brinson; and Nicholas and Johsua Parton's sister, Addison Parton. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Reverend Gene Worley, Reverend Steve Dalton and Reverend Tommy Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Community cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
