ABBOTT, GLENN EDWARD

An 81-year-old retiree of Kaiser Aluminum in Baton Rouge, he died at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. He was a native of Long Island, Kan., and a longtime resident of Walker. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps' 599th Bomber Squadron, 397th Bombardment Group, Ninth Air Force. He served with distinction in the Ardennes, Rhineland, central Europe, Normandy and northern France. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from noon until religious service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, officiated by Brother Roh Burns. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Hula Wesley Abbott; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gene Garrett; three sons, Chad Abbott and wife Darlene, Gary Abbott and Darrell Abbott and wife Kay; eight grandchildren, Elise Price, Chris Garrett, Kyle Abbott and wife Dannielle, Melissa Abbott, Joshua Abbott Crow, Matthew Abbott, Ryan Abbott and wife Krystle and Cody Abbott; and three great-grandchildren, Dillon Price, Austin Price and Christian Blake Abbott. Preceded in death by his parents, Clyde P. Abbott and Louella Miller Abbott; his siblings, Eldon Abbott, Edna Abbott and Ray Abbott; and a son, Norman Glenn Abbott.
