Pfc. Amy A. Duerksen,19, of Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.; was assigned to the 4th Combat Support Battalion, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; She died March 11 from a non-combat-related injury in Baghdad. Amy's father, Doug is an active duty Chaplin and her sister is in training at Fort Sam Houston. She is also survived by her mother, Michelle Duerksen, and two biological siblings, Paul and Kim Branch. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joey. Her awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal; the Army Good Conduct Medal; the National Defense Service Medal; the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals; and the Army Service Ribbon. Burial was with full military honors. She was 19 years old.
