Charles Arthur Machon, age 71, of Dixon, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born in Miller County on April 21, 1943, son of the late Dora and Velma (Rowden) Machon. On April 9, 1969, in Miami, Oklahoma, Charles married Lynn Marie St. Clair, who survives at the home.

Charles proudly served in the United States Navy from August 22, 1960, until his honorable discharge on August 18, 1962. He was employed at Ozark Ready Mix for over 30 years. Charles was lifetime member and past officer of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and Waynesville Church of Christ.

He is also survived by one son, Charles Machon and wife Beth of Dixon and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Viola Bilyeu; and one infant brother, Hershell Machon.

Visitation will be from 12 (noon) to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Thursday, September 18, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Gary Thornsberry will officiate. Interment with military honors under the direction of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and American Legion Post 105, will be in Brays Cemetery near Iberia.
