Luella Bell Acevedo, 99 of Higden went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday August 26, 2014. She was born March 17, 1915 in Brawley, California to Oscar Simmons and Bell Gardenhire Simmons. Ms. Acevedo was a member of First Baptist Church of Sugarloaf and a former member of Bayou Meto Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 42 years Charles Joseph Acevedo, son Charles Joseph Acevedo Jr., sister Evelyn Scott, brother Richard Simmons, and son in law Maynard Joseph Teed.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; a host of extended family and friends.

Memorial service were held on Monday September 8, 2014 at Bishop-Crites Funeral Home in Greenbrier, Bro. Danny Brown officiated.
