Ruth A. (Jones) Mahoney, 84, of North Falmouth, formerly of Taunton, died at Morton Hospital on February 6, 2008. She was the wife of the late Richard D. Mahoney.
Ruth was born and raised in Taunton, graduating from Taunton High School in 1941 and then graduating from Bryant College. While residing in Taunton she worked for many years as a secretary, first for Taunton Schools and then for the Massachusetts Department of Public Works. In 1982 she retired and moved to the Old Silver Beach area of Falmouth.
She was proud member of both St. Elizabeth Seton's guild and the Old Silver Beach Estates.
She is survived by her children, Daniel Mahoney and his wife Louise of Dighton, Mary Wilusz and her husband Stephen of Dighton, and Michael Mahoney and his wife Maureen of Falmouth; and 6 grandchildren. She is the daughter of the late John and May (Walsh) Jones and sister of the late John Leo Jones.
Visiting hours will be from 3-6 pm on Sunday, February 10, 2008 in Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Hwy. (Route 28A), WEST FALMOUTH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Monday, February 11th at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 481 Quaker Rd, North Falmouth, MA, 02556 followed by burial at St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
