Born in Spartanburg, he was the husband of Jerre (Floyd) Dixon and son of the late Henry C. Dixon and Irene (Kirk) Dixon.
He was a retired maintenance supervisor with Monsanto, a member of Broad River Baptist Church, and a veteran of the United States Navy.
Also surviving are a son, Ed D. Dixon of Ridgeville; a brother; two sisters; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at Frederick Memorial Gardens in Gaffney, conducted by the Rev. Norman Philbeck.
