Carey L. Shipley, 26, of Madison, died Tuesday, July 24, 2001, from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Oldham County, Ky.
He was born Aug. 17, 1974, in Madison, the son of Nick Robinson and Cathy Shipley-Sabie. He was the security lead at the Grand Victoria Casino and was formerly a security lead for the Belterra Resort & Casino. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Christina Scroggins Shipley; two sons, Bradly Wolf and Conner Shipley; his mother, of Madison; his father, of Madison; his stepfather, Benny Sabie of Madison; two sisters, Sara Sabie of Madison and Melody Voll of Jeffersontown, Ky.; one brother, Rob Robinson of Madison; and his grandmother and step-grandfather, Catherine and Wilmer Burress of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Alvin "Red" Shipley.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, with burial in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the Vail-Holt Funeral Home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Conner Shipley Trust Fund.
