POP was born on his family farm in New Dundee. He was raised and lived in New Dundee most of his life. He and his wife Nelda (Hillgartner) had four children: Willard Edward (1915), Ivan Norman(August 26 1918), Earl, Kenneth David (1925).

Parents: August Kavelman and Johanna Dammann, both born in Germany.

Two siblings: Martha (Brighton,)Karl Charles Kavelman (wife Ethel May Brighton) sister of Martha's husband.

Pop applied for his birth certificate in order to obtain his Old Age Pension. His birth certificate said his name is George Albert Kavelman.

Donated his body to science.
