Sy was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II who served in the American Defense-American Theater, Europe Middle East. He was awarded with three Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Metal and Distinguished Service Metal. Sy was a lifetime member of Amvets and a member of the VFW of Montgomery. Sy retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150.
He is survived by three sons, Charles "Chuck" Miller, Raymond "Ray" Miller and Harold "Skip" (DeNee) Miller; a brother, Raymond Miller; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents; four brothers, George, Edward, Robert and Harold Miller; two sisters, Evelyne Tinsley and Marie Bywater, preceded him in death.
A Graveside Service for Charles will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Riverside Cemetery. The family will be receiving guests from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery.
