Known to family and friends as 'Gene', ......
Passed away at home in Carson City on the afternoon of August 25, 2006. Gene grew up in Santa Rosa Ca. attending Bellevue Grade School, Herbert Slater Junior High School, and graduated with the Montgomery High School Class of 1962.
He was a resident of Carson City, NV since the mid 1980's, relocating to Nevada to be close to his parents.
Gene was born on August 30, 1944 in Boise, Idaho to Winfred and Wilma Walker. Later in life he became a sheetmetal journeyman by trade, working at various shops, finally becoming co-owner and operator of Glenn's Metal Works, (The Tin Man), in Sebastopol, CA.
Gene's passion was being outdoors, whatever season, the most remote location as possible, fishing in the deepest water with good friends and preferably on top of the highest mountain. He was known to his close circle of fishing and hunting buddies as 'Camp Master', the 'go to' guy for survival.
Gene is survived by his daughter, Margi, his son Bert and daughter-in-law Nikki with their four sons, Gene's older brother Earl and wife Rebecca of Carson City, nephew Michael Walker, and two grand nephews. 'Gene was liked by all and loved by many'.
There will be a memorial service for Gene at 2:pm, September 9, at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 West King Street, Carson City, NV.
