Lena Vivian Catron, age 105, of Wytheville, VA passed away Friday, April 10, 2015. She was born July 25, 1909 in Wythe County, the daughter of the late Christopher Charles and Mary Crigger Kincer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis H. Catron, Sr.; four sons, Lewis H. Catron, Jr, Charles C. Catron, Dewey W. Catron and William R. “Rabbit” Catron, Sr.; two grandsons, Bill Catron and Jeff Catron; two sisters, Mable Spraker and Christine Wilkerson; brother, Hubert Kincer and daughter-in-law Ann Catron. Vivian was the oldest member of Mt. Ephraim United Methodist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Helen Wilson of Wytheville, VA; two sons, Darrell B. Catron of Monroe, NC, Rodney N. and Carrie L. Catron of Virginia Beach, VA; daughters-in-law, Iris Catron of Marion, VA, Nellie Catron of Salem, VA, Bertha Catron of Wytheville, VA; six grandchildren, Teresa C. Peters, Candace Knight, Vickie Allred, William R. Catron, Jr., David C. Catron and Terry W. Catron; eight great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Pastor Steven Alderman officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ephraim Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday one hour before service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Ephraim Church. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, VA is serving the Catron family.
