Laura grew up in Okonomowac, Wisconsin. She was actually one of the few woman of her time who was a college graduate, from a small college in South Dakota. The Kellogg and Taylor family had a lumber mill in Okonomowac. Her father Alan Taylor would fell the trees and take them to the mill by horse team. After marrying Milo, their first child Harriet was born in Wisconsin with Priscilla and Betty born after they moved to Fillmore about 1920.
I recall her mother, Grandma Taylor, living with her in the house in Fillmore. I also recall she always had a chocolate cake on hand because that was grandpa's favorite.
