R. H. "Ed" Edmonston, 73, of Crossett died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at his residence. Born July 15, 1930, in Melbourne to parents, H. R. and Mabel Edmonston, he was an industrial contractor who worked internationally until retirement, and then operated heavy equipment. He was an active member of the Cattlemen's Association and was an avid quarter horseman. He was a 32nd degree Mason in Kentucky and a member of North Crossett First Baptist Church.


Survivors include his wife, Catherine Edmonston; four daughters, Vickie Ramsey and husband John and Toni Hyatt, all of North Little Rock, Terri Webb and husband Mike of Jacksonville and Tracy Monk and husband Jent of Benton; one sister, Jean Thrower of Weatherford, TX; four granddaughters, two great-grandchildren and a special niece, Susie Ralph, and her daughters.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March13, at 2 p.m. at North Crossett First Baptist Church with Bro. Robin Allen officiating. Burial was at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett. Pallbearers were Jody Parker, John Ramsey, Brian Amaden, Jacob Hyatt, John David Varnell and Mike Brockwell. Sunday School class members were honorary pallbearers.
