A.D. WHITFIELD, SR. was born February 20, 1921 near Rosebud, Falls County, Texas to Judge Whitfield and Bell Whitfield. Early in life, he united with the Jones Prayer Church and professed a faith in God; he enjoyed Gospel singing. A. D. Whitfield married Theresa Mae Williams on June 6, 1942 and is the father of A.D., Jr. and Betty Joyce Whitfield. He was an entrepreneur, the owner of Whitfield Salvage Yard on Hwy.77, just south of Rosebud, and was a supplier of parts for farm equipment as well as automobiles. He died in Rosebud, Texas on February 9, 2006.
