Joe lived in China as a missionary child until he was eight. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as a Seabee, learning the electrical trade. Continuing his education, he became a Master Electrician and Electrical Contractor. Joe worked for the IBEW 191 at Mills Electric at Uniflite, Lakeway Electric, and his own business, Larson Electric.
Joe was an active member of Light & Life Christian Fellowship. He volunteered in many capacities, the most notable being: Light and Life Christian Fellowship, the Sonshine nursing home ministry, SOWER's Ministry which helped to build churches and camps, at both Warm Beach and Ferndale Christian Camps, and at "Rancho Betania" a Christian campground in Santa Ana, Sonora, Mexico.
He is survived by his (2nd) wife. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 52 years, Floy Larson. The family would like to invite you to a memorial and celebration of Joe's life on Monday, July 28, at Light & Life Christian Fellowship, 3800 Dana Rd. Bellingham at 1:00pm, with a reception immediately following. There is also a viewing that same day (7/28) at 10:00am and graveside service at 11:00am at Greenacres Cemetery located at Northwest and Axton. Memorial donations may be made in Joe's name to Warm Beach Free Methodist Church, 20815 Marine Drive, Stanwood, WA 98292 with the note "Rancho Betania, Joe Larson" or in his name to Ferndale Camp & Conference Center, PO Box 751, Lynden, WA 98264.
