Elsie "Hazel" Bailey, age 78, passed away Monday, November 20, 2006. Hazel was born in Pensacola, FL and has lived here all her life. She provided child care for Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church, and was a homemaker. She was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She made many friends in the area, people knew her as the walking lady of Myrtle Grove.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Martha Brock, and her husband of 18 years James Cecil Bailey.
She is survived by her two sons Timothy and James Bailey, two daughters Emma Thompson and Mary Armstrong all of Pensacola, FL, sister, Anne (Melvin) Presley; sisters-in-law, Ernastine Rich and Syble Bailey; brother, LeRoy Bloodsworth; many nieces and nephews, and a best friend Myrtle Flores. She is also survived by her five grandchildren Harley, Wendy, and Nicole Armstrong, Demetria Bailey, and Emily Thompson.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 1:00 PM until the service begins at 2:00 PM at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Union Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of the Emerald Coast and the Council on Aging.
