Mrs. Bessie A. Boren
Mrs. Bessie Anne Boren, 86, Hopkinsville, died at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 9, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center following a long illness. Born in Trigg County on Dec. 27, 1899, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy and Mattie Choat Bland. She was a member of the Shady Lawn Free Will Baptist Church. She was married to Joseph Wiley Boren on July 13, 1919 in Stewart County, TN., who preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1955.
Survivors include one son, Lacy Boren Sr., Indian Mound, Tn.; two daughters, Hazel Ford, Hopkinsville, and Carolyn Nave, Houston, Tx.; 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and onegreat-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Boren was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were conducted at the Goodwin Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Rev. Don Walker officiated and music was provided by Mrs. Mae Perdue, organist. Burial followed in the Union Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Lacy Boren Jr.,Randall Boren, Edwin Ford, Donald Wyatt, Chester Wyatt and Sam Ford.

Cadiz, Ky. – Bessie Bland Boren, 86, of Covington's Convalescent Center, Hopkinsville, and formerly of Trigg County died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday atJennie Stuart Medical Center, Hopkinsville, after a long illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Walker officiating and burial in Union Hill Cemetery, Trigg County. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Trigg County, she was born Dec. 27, 1899, the daughter of the late Jimmy and Mattie Choat Bland. She was a member of Shady Lawn Freewill Baptist Church, Hopkinsville.
