Damon 'Anthony' Sims II, 5, passed away on Wednesday, February 15th at 9 p.m. after a six month fight with atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor, a very rare type of progressive brain cancer. Anthony was born January 29, 2001 in Edmond, OK. He was always vibrant and joyful, even during radiation and chemotherapy treatments. He loved playing baseball and was affectionately nicknamed Slugger Sims. Anthony is survived by his parents, Damon and Jeanetta Sims of Edmond; 3-year-old sister, Maicel (MeMe) Sims; great grandmother, Thelma Bean of Chandler, OK; grandparents, Earl and Dorothy Sims of Edmond, and Darnell and Lena Davis of Chandler, OK as well as a host of other family members and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18th at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond OK under the direction of Baggerley Funeral Home.
