She was born to John and Albertha Doornenbal, Of Lynden Wa.
Their Country of Origin and Homeland was Holland. They all spoke fluent Dutch, For their grandmother Alberta's mother Elizabeth Forger spoke only Dutch and had to learn English. and she resided in the household with the family all of her life. John and Albertha had English as their second language. Joanne was the third child born into a family of Seven children including herself. Two of which died in infancy.

Joanne was very beautiful, She married Earl Harbo and they had one child together, A son they named Douglas Harbo. He was an only child and was the only child born to them.
When Douglas was older in age, Later in lifer Joanne and Earl divorced. Joanne married for a second time, To a man named Gordon McRae In 1970, With whom she spent the rest of her life with. When they were married, They had a celebration at Joanne's mother Bertha's home in Lynden WA and a corsage was given and worn by Joanne, Albertha, Elizabeth and Gerrigje (Joanne's sisters.) When Gordon died, His family and girls took care of Joanne, And they were laid to rest apart from one another with Gordon being in the Edomond's Cemetery and Joanne resting in Palm Springs California.
