78, of Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on June 4, 1936, and died peacefully on August 1, 2014, surrounded by his family. Gene was a beloved husband, father, tata, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his wife Carmen, of 57 years and his four children: Albert (Grace), Steven, Candy (Steve), and Christopher (Analisa). He leaves behind a legacy of 16 grandchildren: Albert (Carissa), Daniel (Jessica), Nicole (Justin), Matthew, Michelle, Steven, Christopher (Ashley), Gabriela, Analucia, Emily, Michelle W., Krichelle, and Paul, as well as 5 great grandchildren: Isabel, Esiah, Mia, Ava, and Emma. He is also survived by two brothers: Albert "Chuey" and Joe "Che", along with his two sisters: Mary and Faye. He was the owner of A-Abril's Shoe Repair for over 48 years. A celebration of his beautiful life will take place on August 8th, 2014 at St. Simon and Jude at 10 am, 6351 N 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85017. A funeral procession will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W Thomas Rd Avondale, AZ 85323.
