Funeral services for Fannye Emmaline Pierce Alexander, 92, of Longview were held at 1pm Friday at Sullivan Funeral Home Travis Street Chapel with the Rev. Merrell Brooks officiating. Mrs Alexander died at 6:20 am Wednesday, Oct 4,1989 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.

She was born July 28, 1897 in Bloomburg, Cass, Texas, USA, a daughter of John Patton Pierce, Sr. and Mattie Florence Chappelear Pierce. She attended Bloomburg public schools and was a former resident of Marshall. She married Jackson A Stevens in Queen City in 1915 who preceded her in death in 1920. She later married George Paul Alexander in 1927 in Marshall, who preceded her in death in 1952. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Harelton and was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons Carnes Alexander and Joe Alexander of Longview; seven daughters, Louise Renfroe of Harleton, Betty Wernmark of Los Bans, Calif., Janelle Sloane of Oklahoma City, Okla.,Doris Lee of Dallas, Shirley Sivert of Laplata, Mo.,Pauline Cousins of Alvin and Georgie Vansickle of Price; 32 grandchildren and 83 great-grandchildren; 46 great-great-grandchildren; one brother Homa Pierce of Marshall; and a number of nieces and nephews.
