MOULTRIE — Wallace James "Billy" Stevenson, 77, of Moultrie died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 26, at Mother Easter Baptist Church with the Rev. John W. Greene Jr. officiating, assisted by the Rev. Emory H. Hopkins and the Rev. Arletha Miller. Burial followed at the St. James Pallbearers No. 2 Cemetery. John Greene III, NaRhyan Burke and Thad Brown served as active pallbearers.

Born March 1, 1931, in Moultrie, Mr. Stevenson was the son of Annie Mae Ryce Thomas and the late Lonnie Stevenson. He attended the Moultrie public school system, enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduation and worked for the Mattel Toy Co. in New York for many years before returning to Moultrie. He was of the Methodist faith.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dean Stevenson.

Survivors include his mother, Annie Mae Ryce Thomas; three daughters, Annie Green and husband John W. Greene Jr., Debra Stevenson and Katrina Perrin; three sons, Wallace Stevenson Jr., Derek Stevenson and R. Andre' Stevenson and wife Andrea; a brother, Harold Davis and wife Mavis; two special aunts, Christine Allen and Glendora Ryce; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
