Carpenter by trade. Married Lida Etta Bridgeman on 21 Dec 1907. They had 5 children: Harvey Vance, Myron Dale, Twins: Lida Louise and Louis Walter, Jr and Curtis Luray. Louis Jr died in 1918 (Tarboro)in the flu epidemic and his place of burial is currently unknown.
