Our beloved mother, grandmother passed away at the home of her son, Maurice and daughter-in-law Leslie Adams in San Jose, CA.

She was born Sept. 6, 1925 to Walter and Magnolia Jones in Clarksdale, MS. The Clarksdale, Mississippi native graduated from Greenwood High School in Greenwood, MS and attended Oakwood College in Alabama before being accepted at the White Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. It soon became obvious to Elizabeth that California offered more opportunities than those available to her in the South. She was the wife of the late Eddie M. Adams, Jr. and to this union, one son was born, Maurice B. Adams. She was converted and baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church and she remained loyal to her faith. When in Salt Lake she always worshiped with Calvary Baptist Church. She held many positions after graduating. She served as a surgical R.N. and was in charge of nurse staffing. She came to know professional and student nurses on a caring and personal level. Retiring after 39 years of dedicated services at the California Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA. Prior to her death she worked as a volunteer in the East Field Ming Quan Thrift Store and was very active in the South Side Center for Seniors, there she served in helping with their health problems.
